live transcribe

Google has announced two new applications that will help the hearing impaired. One such app for the deaf is Live Transcribe, which “listens” to a conversation and transcribes it on the smartphone screen directly and simply. The other app is Sound Amplifier, which consists of an amplifier that increases the volume of reproductions. Although it is useful for people with hearing problems, this second app is quite advantageous even for those who have the perfect hearing and need to use it in very noisy environments.

Live Transcribe

Live Transcribe uses a voice recognition system. It transcribes all the words captured by the smartphone microphone, so the words appear on the screen in real time. This technology comes with the intention of facilitating communication with deaf people.

live transcribe

This deaf application is available in 70 languages. It allows you to quickly switch between two languages and to answer without speaking, that is, you can write to the application itself. In addition, it supports external microphones present in wired headphones, Bluetooth or USB headphones.

Live Transcribe is available in Beta phase limited to users from around the world from the Play Store.

Sound Amplifier

Sound Amplifier aims to amplify the sound so that conversations become clearer for people with hearing difficulties or even to be used in noisy environments. In addition, it can reduce unwanted or disturbing noise. The application can be used with conventional headphones.

In addition to increasing sound and reducing noise, you can also adjust the sound to the left or right ear, according to the person’s preference. The application works without internet access.

Thanks to these new technologies, communication with people with hearing difficulties will become much easier. Both applications will be accessible to everyone. They are still being tested and will be available to everyone in an upcoming update.
